The London Open is one of the largest annual bike polo tournaments in the World. Last year, it coincided with the world Championships so we saw the best players in the sport put together fun mismatched teams. This year, with Worlds in the U.S.A, the London Open had a little less worldly draw but Europe’s heaviest hitters were definitely in attendance.
Anymore it has become a norm to expect a live stream when the top players in the world hit the court at a tournament, and the London Open organizers made sure their tournament followed suit. If you were lucky enough to catch the live stream, you may have already experienced some of this footage, but in case you were like me and slept through the broadcast, or you just want to see the games again, here are the final two games of the tournament:
The Milky Way vs Spring Break in the Loser’s Bracket Final.
The Milky Way vs The Magic Way in the Tournament Final. Europe’s top two bike polo equipment companies put teams together and these two teams just happened to meet in the tournament final. On the line in this final was more than just tournament victory, it was a fight for pride in ones sponsor.
On top of these videos of great polo action, some heartfelt polo portraits made their way to the web thanks to Will Melling. By going HERE, HERE, and HERE you can see several photos catching the post-game passion and the mid-game rage that make hardcourt bike polo a sport that we all love.
If anyone else has any media from the London Open that they would like to share, please post it in the comments section so everyone can check it out!
